"We've made a commitment to go away do this work quickly over the next few weeks". Premier Allan
The third meeting of the Victorian Government's Drought Taskforce was held in Ballarat last Friday.

Since last week Premier Allan made these further announcements:
Extended Eligible activities - Edtending the grant program to now include pasture re-establishment and water carting – reflecting the wide-ranging pressures farmers are facing and ensuring support reaches where it’s needed most.
Free farm advisor consultations – Agriculture Victoria has launched technical decision-making services, giving farmers free, one-on-one support to make drought response plans.
Mental health boost – A Look Over the Farm Gate program with $5,000 grants available for community events that promote farmer well-being and connection.

Failure to get traction
Meanwhile Gayle Tierney, Victorian Water Minister, has failed to secure a commitment from the Federal Government to pause the Commonwealth’s purchase of water entitlements.
Vic Gov Drought Taskforce Update June 20 - it's just not enough!
While in Ballarat, Premier Allan continued to defend the Emergency Services Volunteer Fund levy, although paused for 12 months. There remains considerable concern about its future implementation and the financial strain it would place on primary producers and regional communities already grappling with drought.
With financial pressures still mounting, now is the time to take action for your farm, your business, and your wellbeing.
