Important Notice: Warning - Misleading ASIC Correspondence Being Sent to Clients

Correspondence

Do not pay any fees to a company called Registration. This is not a legitimate company.

We have become aware that some of our clients are receiving unsolicited mail from an external third-party company calling itself Registration. The correspondence relates to your ASIC-registered company and may appear, at first glance, to be an official notice.

What is this correspondence?

This mail is not from ASIC, nor is it from our office. It is being sent by a third party that has obtained details of registered companies from publicly available ASIC records. The letter references your company name and requests payment of a fee — currently $449 — in exchange for a service that is either unnecessary or not legitimate.

We strongly advise that you do not pay this fee and disregard the correspondence entirely.

Why does it mention my company?

ASIC company registration details — including company names and registered office addresses — are publicly available on the ASIC register. Third-party operators sometimes use this information to send misleading notices that resemble official documents. This is a known issue that affects businesses across Australia.

What you should know about your registered office?

Future Accounting is your registered office for your ASIC-registered companies. This means that any legitimate correspondence from ASIC or other official bodies will be forwarded to you directly from our office. You do not need to take action on any ASIC-related notices unless they come through us or are clearly from ASIC itself at asic.gov.au.

Not sure if something is legitimate?

If you receive any correspondence for your business or other entities and are unsure whether it is genuine, please contact our office before taking any action. Our team is happy to review the notice and advise you accordingly — at no cost to you.
